Allie: a collection of random songs and thoughts on my final mummy boy mixtape. what have i been up to, you ask? i've been really zoning out to library music like keith mansfield, it's like meditation. occasionally listening to new release tracks, like, the strokes released a new song? and it's good? sometimes i just want to make pretend vomit noises while headbanging and spy gives me this outlet. sometimes i want to unlock hidden nostalgia in my mind by listening to the CD bonus tracks from TOYPAJ by blink 182. almost every day i appreciate that ecca vandal released a song about how brutal menstruation really is. then just a reminder that drug church really does rip. thanks for listening, even moreso for reading.
Mike: American Nightmare are top 3 for me, and Farewell has everything you could need in a hardcore song. A fitting end to this chapter. When Alex Cameron first hit the scene, I was fully captivated by whatever it was he was doing, and his first website was so good too. Chelsea Wolfe can do no wrong, and with just 3 songs out so far her new album is a contender for AOTY. I have long been on the quest for the most punk hip-hop I could find (whatever that means), and Death Grips was exactly what I was looking for; abrasive, noisy, and heavy. Deadly Avenger does a lot of awesome scores, but The Girl With The White Orchid is incredible start to finish. Makes me want to film a movie just to use this as the soundtrack. More music I didn't know I needed until I found it - Ihsahn, and the heaviest saxophone shredding maybe ever.
